Our first trip in 2010 was to Big Bend National Park. We went for about a week and stayed in all 3 RV campgrounds: Rio Grande Village, Chisos Basin, and Cottonwood. Cottonwood was our favorite.
We went in mid-April in anticipation of seeing desert plants in bloom, and we were not disappointed. Most of the cactus varieties were in full bloom, and the ocotillo were especially grand. The wildlife did not disappoint either. We saw a nesting pair of Black Hawks, nesting Elf Owls, campground coyotes and javelinas, and the piece de resistance, a nesting pair of Gray Hawks in the big Cottonwood next to our camper.
Please enjoy some photos of our trip.
